Benguerra Lodge is an intimate, romantic and luxurious beach retreat situated on the protected north-western side of Benguerra Island, part of the Bazaruto Archipelago that lies just off the coast of southern Mozambique.

Accommodation at Benguerra Lodge comes in three varieties: rustic 'cabanas' built right on the edge of the beach; more spacious and elaborate 'casitas'; and a villa that sleeps four. The cabanas and casitas come with plunge pools, sun decks, hammocks and day beds, while the villa has its own swimming pool, garden and personal chef. The main part of Benguerra Lodge houses the bar and dining room, and there is also a swimming pool and a small spa.

Benguerra Island lies within a National Marine Park, and the nearby coral reefs offer some of the best snorkelling and diving in the world. Benguerra Lodge has a fully equipped dive centre, and other watersports available include sea kayaking, saltwater fly-fishing and deep sea fishing on a 'catch & release' basis.

Castaway picnics on neighbouring islands, bird watching, island tours and sunset cruises on a traditional dhow are among the other activities, or you can just relax on the beach and swim in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.

Fresh seafood forms the basis of the delicious, Portuguese-influenced cuisine. Altogether, Benguerra Lodge offers a wonderful combination of marine safari and barefoot beach holiday.
