Turks & Caicos
Amanyara is located on a private 1,000 foot white-sand beach on the northwest coast of Providenciales, the capital island of the Turks & Caicos.
AMANYARA IS INCLUDED IN OUR BOOK, DIVE IN STYLE
Accommodation consists of timber pavilions nestled in the vegetation, some situated on the edge of tranquil lakes, others located along the oceanfront, elevated above the waterline. At the heart of the resort, a stunning 50-metre swimming pool and sun deck overlook the sea with a circular bar nearby.
The main restaurant serves fine Asian and Mediterranean cuisine with an emphasis on local seafood, while the Beach Club, located on a dune at the southern end of the sweeping white sand beach, provides an informal dining venue throughout the day. The food here is simple but exceptional: grills, sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit, juices and shakes, with beach barbeques in the evenings.
Activities at Amanyara include a wide range of watersports. As well as snorkelling in the shallow turquoise waters, there are catamarans, Laser sailboats, boogie boards and sea kayaks.
With the coral reefs of Northwest Point Marine National Park directly offshore, Amanyara also offers easy access to some of the best dive sites in the Caribbean. Altogether, there are more than 1,000 square miles of coral reef encircling the islands, with excellent wall diving and a healthy marine environment. Amanyara’s fully equipped dive centre is operated by a professional team of dive instructors and offers a range of dive courses from introduction through to advanced and speciality courses. One of the great advantages of diving from Amanyara is that provided the weather cooperates, it is the only resort in the islands where you can be picked up off the beach by the dive boat.
Other facilities at Amanyara include two flood-lit clay tennis courts, a gym, a library and a top of the range spa offering a selection of massages and body treatments. A newly opened kids club makes this a genuine family option. There is also an 18-hole championship golf course 30 minutes’ drive away.

The private island of Wakaya, 40 minutes' flight from Fiji's main airport at Nadi, is some 2,200 acres – but less than one-10th has been terraformed into one man's dream, the balance left to nature, stuffed with wild deer, horses, goats and pigs, some of which you will meet again at the restaurant. Ten minutes in a 4x4 and the resort reveals itself, small and...
