Sangat Island Dive Resort

This Eco-Resort is positioned along a 300m-stretch of white sandy beach on Sangat Island, just south of Coron, surrounded by towering limestone cliffs and coconut palms. It really is a stunning location.

The resort offers fourteen unique, native-styled accommodations in several different categories: Beachfront cottages, Hillside Cottages, Bungalow suites and a Hilltop Chalet. The accommodation here is basic, with just fans and the wind for natural ventilation, although the Beachfront cottages (which are our favourites) sit on stilts near the water, so do tend to get plenty of fresh breeze. All the rooms have been made with local materials, including hand-woven bamboo wall panels and Nipa Palm roofing to ensure that they are as eco-friendly as possible. With this in mind, the rooms do not have hot water as part of their eco-friendly principles.

The bar and restaurant are open-air and beside the beach, offering a wide selection of regional and international dishes, as well as different drink options, throughout the day and well into the evening. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included and are offered in a buffet-style environment. Fresh seafood, savory pork entrées and juicy tropical fruits are the orders of the day.

Along with being a beautiful spot, one of Sangat's biggest selling points is the dive set-up. They are the closest resort to all the wrecks and this means very short 5 to 20 minute boat ride. The diving is well organised and you can do up to four dives a day with the knowledgeable divemasters.

Aside from the diving, there is much to do in this extraordinary and interesting region. Activities include island-hopping expeditions, sunset cruises, nature trekking, kayaking to the resort's own private hot springs and much more for you to discover and experience. The resort also offers a wide range of watersports including jetskiing, windsurfing and sailing.
