Liveaboard Diving
If you want to do as much diving as possible in a short space of time, or are planning a trip to a remote part of the world (many of the world’s best dive spots are only accessible by boat) then a liveaboard diving holiday may be the way to go.
A liveaboard diving holiday involves either hiring your own private boat or, more commonly, joining a scheduled trip with a number of other individuals, and heading out to dive to your heart’s content. Often these trips are for the more hardcore divers as people will often do four or even five dives a day, but there are a number of boats that are suitable for those who love to dive, but a little less, or even for those who don’t want to dive at all but want to explore by boat (and this just happens to be an Original Diving speciality).
Boats range from cheap and cheerful dive boats in the Red Sea to private yachts in Indonesia and the Maldives. Whatever your taste, there is likely to be a boat that we can find that will fit your requirements. Some of the best diving in the world (and also the least crowded) can only be accessed by liveaboard boat so unless you suffer from terrible sea sickness, liveaboard diving is something to seriously consider.

What you need
The main thing you need of course is a boat as a liveaboard (which is a bit of a diver’s term) simply means a boat on which you live for a length of time to dive. Other than that you don’t need anything in particular above and beyond a basic diving qualification (though some liveaboards, depending on where they are may need a minimum level of experience). You will also of course need your sea legs!
