The boutique-style Pelagian liveaboard offers an extremely comfortable way to explore Wakatobi and the surrounding waters and with a maximum of 10 guests onboard, a very personal experience.

Wakatobi's dive yacht, Pelagian, is 115 feet of luxury, spaciousness and comfort - qualities that are rare to come by on a diving liveaboard. The boutique-style accommodation holds a maximum of 10 guests and large outdoor areas, several lounges and dining spaces mean you can enjoy as much social interaction or privacy as you like.

The chefs rotate between the resort and the Pelagian dive boat providing you with the same high standard of food which is an international blend, combining Indonesian delicacies and flavours from all over the world.

The level of service provided for guests is outstanding: the vessel is manned by an experienced, international crew and is carefully maintained with your safety and comfort being of the upmost importance.

And then there is the diving. Two custom-made 18ft RIBs are used for all diving and are geared towards ease of entry and exit. The Pelagian dive boat cruises through the islands of Tomia, Kaledupa, Binongko, Hoga, Wanci and Buton and enables you to reach dive sites which would not be possible by staying at Wakatobi Resort alone.

Seven, 10 or 11 night dive trips are offered with varied routes and a unique combination of stunning reefs and rarely seen 'muck diving' sites. Muck diving refers to the exploration of areas not focused on the reefs but the sandy, silty bottoms where the weird and wonderful critters are plentiful and truly extraordinary! And with Pelagian cruises you will experience some world-class muck diving. As well as the muck diving, you will dive pinnacles, steep walls, drift dives, and caverns - with such varied and interesting diving you will find it very hard to get bored!

Pelagian occasionally has specialty cruises to the much sought after Komodo National Park so for those more interested in pelagics, sweeping currents and generally the 'bigger stuff', this is the cruise for you. With a seemingly endless variety of marine life, you can expect to see sharks, mantas, schooling jacks, as well as small critters, stunning coral and sea fans.

This is one of the best liveaboards operating in Indonesia offering truly world-class diving experienced in style and comfort. Do not miss out!

Consider combining a Pelagian liveaboard cruise with a stay at Wakatobi Dive Resort for the best of both diving worlds and the ultimate diving holiday.

Why we love it

The master suite on the Pelagian liveaboard spans the whole width of the vessel and occupies the entire bow on the main deck. Pretty luxurious for a dive boat!

Wakatobi Dive Resort

The Wakatobi Dive Resort is something of an enigma, straddling the divide between luxury dive resort and boutique hotel. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxed, the local staff ever helpful, and given where you are it is an amazing achievement, the more so as it puts so much back into the local community. Without the hotel’s existence, it is frighteningly credible that the reefs would by now have been dynamited to extinction.
