Why we think you’ll love it

  • The coral gardens of Lizard Island on the Great Barrier Reef are stunning.
  • Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia is home to mantas, whale sharks and more.
  • Lord Howe Island is a hidden gem in New South Wales.
  • Away from the diving there is much to explore here.

Our Guide to Diving Holidays in Australia

There are a number of must-dive trips within Australia from the Great Barrier Reef on the east coast to snorkelling with whale sharks on Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia to the world's most southerly coral reef at Lord Howe Island. Combining diving any (or all) of these with a visit to the vibrant cities and deserted outback is an incredible experience.

Did you know

  • Australia's waters contain over 1,700 different species of coral and 4,000 different species of fish
  • The Great Barrier Reef supports a staggering amount of marine life; over 1,500 species of fish; six species of turtle (who come to the reef to breed); and 30 species of whale, dolphin and porpoise have been recorded here.

Several of the team have been to Australia in recent years and we've been keeping a close eye on the crop of fantastic new lodges that opened recently and have taken the standard of accommodation to another level.

Despite the long flight, don't write Australia off as a family destination - the hospitality on offer makes it ideal for kids.
