Sitting on the edge of the Red Sea, Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh is an oasis of Egyptian decadence and with a certified PADI dive centre offering a wealth of courses, the resort is a luxurious haven for divers.
Just south of the coastal town of Hurghada, Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh is an Arabic-style escape with exceptional service. Classical suites are set amongst 48 hectares of palm-dotted gardens, some with views of the sparkling Red Sea. The grounds are vast, but staff are happy to chauffeur guests around in golf buggies.
Columns and domed ceilings evoke regional architecture whilst interiors are elegantly appointed with king size beds, marble bathrooms and private terraces. The Grand Suites and Royal Suites are considerably larger and enjoy private swimming pools and alfresco private dining.
'The Restaurant' at Sahl Hasheesh serves a mix of Indian, Western, Oriental and Pan Asian dishes with sweeping views of the Red Sea. Head to Zaafran for Indian cuisine and live traditional music, or the poolside Pergola, oozing romantic evening ambience. Intimate candlelit dinners can be arranged on the resort's private pier with exclusively designed menus.
Showcasing 850m of private beach, a 23 metre pool and a pampering spa, Sahl Hasheesh offers ultimate relaxation accompanied by world-class diving. Its star feature being the resort's very own certified PADI centre, there is a plethora of diving opportunities in outstanding coral reef. Choose from open water, adventure and rescue diver courses and even dive master instruction accommodating everyone from beginners to the experienced.
While it is worth venturing further afield, the nicest surprise at the Oberoi is the quality of the house reef - a real pleasure to snorkel and dive right from the beach.
