Located on the pure white sandy shores of south Andros, the remote Tiamo resort is the perfect place to get away from it all and truly unwind.

Louisa is here to help give you the inside track.

With just 10 cottages and one villa, even when the Tiamo resort is full it still feels peaceful and exclusive, with rarely more than a few people congregating in the main area.

The cottages at Tiamo are all raised on stilts just back from the water's edge amongst shady palm trees and have slightly different layouts. Some have private pools and some, known as 'breeze', have open walls so are kept cool by the ocean breezes. Between the water and the cottages is a beautiful stretch of white beach where you can relax or alternatively (and one of our favourite things here) wade out to your floating bed just a few metres off the shore and benefit from the cooling breeze!

The restaurant at Tiamo is located just along from the cottages so you can have lunch while looking out across the bright turquoise ocean, plus there is also an infinity pool to cool off from the heat of the day. The food is delicious, the menu is different each day and fresh seafood is plentiful on this island paradise. Also located in the main area of the resort is the PADI dive centre, which is brand new and incredibly equipped to ensure you have a first-class experience. Located just a 10-minute boat ride from the resort is the reef that runs parallel to Andros; which drops down 6,000 feet to the Tongue of the Ocean between Andros and Nassau. A variety of dive sites can be visited, including blue holes, walls and sloping coral reefs.

Other activities include world-class bonefishing, water skiing, paddle boarding or a ride in a transparent canoe!

Well within reach of the UK, the stunning Tiamo resort is the ultimate getaway for a touch of rest and relaxation as well as some lovely diving, all right on your doorstep.
