Cayman Brac Diving Holidays
The easternmost island of the Cayman Islands, Cayman Brac is a nature-lover's paradise with its top-notch diving spots, scenic hikes, limestone caves and lush forests which are home to bountiful bird species from endangered parrots to brown boobies.
As well as its rich nature, both above and below the water, the island has a handful of tiny towns where you can slow down and experience a slice of serene island life, far from the tourist traps. Dine on freshly caught seafood by day (think conch fritters, grilled mahi mahi and coconut shrimp) and kick back in a laidback hotel come night.
Diving is extensive off Cayman Brac, with around 100 different hard and soft corals and over 500 types of fish from groupers and wahoo to yellowfin tuna and mutton snappers. The boats rides are short, and dive sites are a mixture of walls, sand slopes and fringing reefs. One of the most famous wall dives here is Anchor Wall, located on the south side of the island and named after an anchor that was accidently dropped here in the 1600s and has since embedded itself into the wall. There's an abundance of marine life to spot here, and if you dive down to 90m, there's a swim-through in the wall that goes beneath the anchor.
