Best Time to Dive in Northern Atolls

As with elsewhere across the Maldives, the Northern Atolls boast great diving conditions for most of the year, but the best time to dive here is between December and April. However, between June and September, although visibility can be poor due to higher plankton levels in the water, this attracts a huge amount of marine life including hundreds of manta rays, especially at Hanifaru Bay in Baa Atoll. This is a remarkable spectacle where hundreds of manta rays form trains of feeding frenzies, so if you don't mind the odd rain shower, this is a fantastic time to dive in the Northern Atolls.
