Mike's Point Dive Site: An Overview
Mike's Point is a stunning wall dive on the north coast of Bunaken Island, nestled within Bunaken Marine Park. Often dived as a drift due to the strong currents, Mike's Point is best suited for advanced divers looking for a thrilling site with pristine corals and great visibility.
The main feature at Mike's Point is a beautiful coral wall shaped like an amphitheatre. The wall is adorned with huge gorgonian sea fans, black corals and an array of colourful soft and hard corals. A closer look reveals critters like mantis shrimps, scorpionfish and moray eels hidden away in the nooks and crannies.
Aside from smaller fish, larger species like Napoleon wrasse and bumphead parrotfish also frequent the site, and it's not unusual to encounter passing reef sharks and eagle rays while diving in Mike's Point. Extremely lucky divers might even spot silvertip sharks out in the blue.
