In the heart of Indonesia, in one of the most exciting new diving spots on the planet, Kalimaya Dive Resort is offering guests a rare combination of luxury and dedicated diving focus. In fact, the whole resort was design with divers specifically in mind, so you know you’ll be in good hands here.
The resort is made up of a scattering of traditional wooden bungalows which all have fantastic ocean views. In order to ensure sustainability and a real feeling of being on an island, the bungalows are simply decorated with light neutral colours and wooden furniture, meaning your focus is always on the colourful views outside. However the bungalows do all come with plush queen sized or twin beds, huge covered terraces, and spacious en suite bathrooms with open outdoor showers - perfect for an evening relaxing after a day underwater. If you fancy it, there is also a great beach side pool and snorkelling equipment or paddle boards to keep you further entertained.
As a small resort all meals at Kalimaya are served 'family style' on the large communal dining table in the resort's main area - which of course overlooks the ocean. The food is locally sourced from nearby villages and the rich local area as much as possible and is as such fresh, flavourful and delicious.
Since the beautiful, private bay and its surrounding dive sites are not accessible for anyone other than Kalimaya guests, the dive sites and 400m of stunning beachfront are for exclusive use. Plus, the dive sites are located in the heart of the coral triangle and boast some of the greatest marine biodiversity in the world. At Kalimaya Dive Resort you can enjoy three distinct types of diving: muck & macro diving, current diving, and coral diving - meaning you'll expect to see everything from Bumblebee Shrimp, Oceanic and Reef Manta Rays, Blacktip, Whitetip and Grey Reef Sharks, Elephant Ear Coral and many more.
Why we love it
The diving variety and exclusivity is just fantastic.
