Best Time to Dive in Moalboal
Although you can dive here all year round, the best time to dive in Moalboal is during the dry season, between December and April. At this time of year, the region enjoys sunny skies, calm surface conditions and excellent underwater visibility. These conditions mean it is also the peak season, so you can expect busy dive sites and higher prices.
The shoulder months of November and May are also a great time to dive in Moalboal, while during the rainy season (June to October), you might experience slightly choppier waters and reduced visibility, but the conditions are generally still good (as long as you don't mind the odd shower). Water temperatures remain a balmy 26-30°C throughout the year, with air temperatures sitting at a similar range.
Lucky for us, one of the world's most accessible and impressive sardine bait balls - the main attraction for divers in Moalboal - hangs out here all year long. Home to pristine coral reefs and steep walls, divers can also see incredible macro life, as well as turtles, barracuda, tuna, snapper, reef sharks and even the odd whale shark.
