A small coral island encircled by a living house-reef, boutique hotel Baros Maldives’ two marine centres mean scuba adventures are guaranteed, without skimping on the luxury.
Greeted at Malé International Airport, guests are whisked away on a short 25 minute speedboat to the palm tree-lined, postcard perfect beaches of Baros Maldives. Beachside and Water Villas, some with private pools, further complement the desert-island setting with thatched roofs and local timber. Luxury is paramount, with extensive private verandas for undisturbed relaxation, a king sized bed and dedicated butler on call 24/7 to ensure your stay is nothing short of spectacular.
A vibrant house reef houses a plethora of marine life accessed straight from the beach, whilst there are also 30 world class dive spots within a 50 minute boat ride from the island. At the Dive Centre, guests can participate in Eco Diving - the first of its kind in the Maldives, whilst at the Marine Centre the resident Marine Biologist hosts awareness programmes for those interested in learning all about the marine world.
Three restaurants and two bars entice with both local and international classics. A fresh and delicious buffet breakfast can be enjoyed at Lime Restaurant (with Asian dishes served up in the evening). The perfect lunch spot, guests can dine on wood-fired pizza, salads and platters of grills from around the world at The Cayenne Grill, whilst The Lighthouse Restaurant offers gourmet dining paired with fine wine - all whilst spotting rays and sharks swim beneath the pavilion. Above The Lighthouse Restaurant, The Lounge offers sun downers with a view of the horizon whilst at The Sails Bar, located in the heart of the island, daybeds and hammocks are an ideal setting to sit back and relax with a cocktail.
Hidden within the tropical garden guests will find the Serenity Spa, which offers soothing treatments by skilled therapists and a yoga pavilion for classes and meditation. Nooma, the resort's 19-foot traditional handcrafted Maldivian sailing dhoni can be chartered for those looking to explore beyond the resort's shores.
The upstairs Lighthouse lounge at Baros, with its panoramic views over the Indian Ocean, is the perfect venue for sundowner drinks
