Where did you visit?

I spent 11 days diving in Cayman Brac and Little Cayman (the smallest of the island trio). Cayman Brac is home to a handful of small towns and around 170 limestone caves, making it the ideal destination to switch off. Most dive sites were only a short boat ride away, boasting sandy slopes and fringing reefs. Little Cayman, with its powdery beaches and population of fewer than 200 residents, provided a quiet escape.

What did you get up to?

Mostly diving! With a combined population of around 2,000 people across Cayman Brac and Little Cayman, the pace of life is much slower, leaving plenty of time to focus on exploring the underwater world. Most of the dive sites I visited were very accessible - just a short boat ride from shore. During my stay on Cayman Brac, I also explored the lush landscape on a relaxing hike to the lighthouse, passing The Bluff, a limestone plateau which is the highest point in the Cayman Islands.

What were the highlights?

The relaxing dives and top-notch beaches. Exploring the edge of the Cayman Trough - the deepest part of the Caribbean - kept every dive exciting, with dramatic sea walls, swim-throughs and abundant marine life. Above water, the beaches were beautiful, with white sands and secluded coves, the ideal backdrop for a relaxing getaway.

What were the diving conditions like?

Incredible! The pristine conditions offered up to 20m of great visibility and the warm 28°C waters meant you could dive comfortably without a wetsuit. With minimal to no current, each dive felt relaxed and laid-back - ideal for exploring at your own pace.

Who is this diving destination best suited to?

Divers of all levels. The calm waters, along with easy access to shore and boat dives, make the Cayman Islands an excellent destination to learn to dive, refine your skills or progress to more advanced levels. During my stay, the staff were exceptional, offering helpful briefings, educational programs and useful diving tips, that really enhanced the experience.

What’s a top tip you’d give to clients?

Treat this as a destination to dive and truly chill out. It's not the place for a packed itinerary of non-stop activities and cultural sightseeing. Take advantage of the chance to switch off completely.
